  • I have a folder under C:\ProgramData\Bitdefender which contains log files it seems from the previous isntallations. Under Program Files I dont have any left.
  • The previous AV is Windows 10 Defender. I dont have a screenshot of this error because I removed it again. It just showed "Error" and then "performing a rollback" with a red X. Nothing more about why this happened. I then rebooted, tried again. This time, it "installed through", but then Bitdefender was totally broken, not…

Blah blah blah. Free has the same scan engine than the pro version, both are $h1t. This is the most gabrage…

  • I just tested Bitdefender Free again yesterday. The certificate issue seems to be fixed in the Browers, the waiting for cache / random ssl connection blocks not. There is some nasty bug in this crap of a AV, since years now. It seems to happen more often after waking up from sleep / modern standby. The issue is mostly…
  • There are several issues btw next to this. When it was installed, I had randomly also the following issues: - Chrome not loading pages saying "waiting for cache" - random DNS resolv problems This is mostly all connected to the buggy SSL scanning, you cant disable for the free version.
  • Nope, nothing is working. Just tested it again reinstalling it. Still borken with EVERY BROWSER, Chrome, Firefox, Edge. Tested it on two PCs. I will stick with Windows Defender I guess.
  • I just got answer from Support of Bitdefender, they told me, they cant help me and dont care because they dont give any support "anymore" for the free version. Is this a joke?
  • /index.php?/topic/80422-bitdefender-free-blocks-most-https-connections-on-my-pc/&do=embed" style="height:218px;max-width:500px;"> Remove Bitdefender and never use it ever again and tell all people you know the same.

This AV is a JOKE. They seem to buy reviews every year, and I fall for it every time. I am testing Bitdefender every year now for the last 3…
  • Same problem, latest version just installed it a few days ago. Is this a joke? Worse AV on the market I guess. I fall for it every year.
  • This issue is not related to Firefox. I cant see most HTTPS sites with this bad Bitdefender Free edition on Edge, Chrome or Firefox.
  • Seriously? This, from one of the leading AntiVirus companies? I should totally contact some bigger mags like pcmag and ask them to report about this, because they seem not to know the awards they give for BitDefender Free Edition is bought on false facts, especially if they tell it's a good product to use for Windows 10.
  • What does this even mean, so it's officially unsafe? Not detection wise, but it can destroy your Windows 10 installation. I have noticed several bluescreens during the use of Bitdefender Free Edition on Windows 10, related to some Bitdefender sys driver, happened on my friends PCs too several times. I also noticed…
  • Well I think this is too hard. The official Version of Windows 10 is out since only a few days, so give the developers a chance. Absolutely not!? There is a reason why there are beta programs. Hello? This is one of the most used Anti-Virus programs, it isnt a small company or whatsoever. We are talking about their product…
  • I had reported this bug some weeks ago so they knew about it but didn't do anything back then. They just said "is not yet officially compatible with Windows 10". How bad can a "security company" be? Wasn't it obvious that thousands of people are using their product and would upgrade to Windows 10 which automatically would…
  • I think you need to set it up first on what to do when it detects a false positive. Check below. http://forum.bitdefender.com/lofiversion/i...php/t44465.html Aehm, excuse me? Did you read what this was all about? Bitdfender lacks a fourth option for "user interaction". There are just Delete, move to Q, deny, WHICH IS…
  • Dont you have better things to do? 1.) I did use google first 2.) your link is from 2010, it's very, very, very, very, very unlikly that "false alarm" about Windows update still exists 3.) it is more likely a 3rd party program or internet activity tries to download a temp file (virus) and wants to install it 4.) why am I…
  • I said there are no files in there. And these are temp files, not any already running files somewhere. And a system scan doesnt find anything.
  • Hello, yes that was what I meant. But I dont have any option to dont let it show. I also dont want to disable the scanning, just not having the button to be there on every page. Heres what mine looks like. Shouldnt it be the first option? It seems to be bugged.... if i turn it on and back off again, it's gone for a while…
  • This is not a fix, so when will it be really fixed? I dont want a weird workaround, I dont want to deinstall and reinstall Bitdefender. I didnt come from 2012, and my Homegroup doesnt work, until I deactivate the Bitdefender firewall.
  • Set Stealth Mode to OFF. Like I said in my post before, my settings are already "Home/Office off yes".
  • Cant get the Windows Homegroup to work properly if the BIS 2013 firewall is turned on. My settings are "Home/Office off yes" on both my laptop and desktop and Im in autopilot mode. I just can join/create a group if I turn off the firewall on both computers. How to fix this? I also tried to add the ip of my laptop on my…
  • Why doesnt the Bitdefender poster refer on their own help files? Look here: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/What-to...d-off-1091.html All you have to do to fix this is: cmd.exe as admin winmgmt /verifyrepository winmgmt /resetrepository reboot
  • edit/add: Just you know, I have TURNED OFF antivirus, on access scan, and firewall. This does nothing. Bitdefender still false detects via this stupid MIDAS3 detection. It seems it cannot be turned off, whatever reason for, which is ridiculous. If I want to turn off my virus scanner completely, I want it to happen, like I…
  • Tried it and yes, if you turn on "explorer http traffic" and put your lan/wlan on "home/office off yes" (yes for generic), the tiles are working again. But I dont want to turn the explorer http traffic option on, because it s a security risk.
  • Read this post just for information Cloud Technology And? I read that post before I created mine. What does it help? I still need an answer to my problem. - Why cant I disable Bitdefender for a short time for installing? The button on/off seems to do nothing, because even if turned off, it still finds the ""virus"" and…
  • I just got an update to version : 16.26.0.1739 --> obviously the problems are fixed!! Not true. I have 16.26.0.1739 and still the live tiles, and other Windows functions aren working properly.
  • I was getting so frustrated because of my live tiles in Windows 8 stopped working. Actually, they didnt even refresh anymore, they also showed weird behavior like the buttons for "turn on/off live tiles" were gone on some tiles. I tried to remove and reinstall them, causing some to get "stuck" during installation in the…
