  • I'm happy to report that yesterday I successfully installed the SP3 update . And the previous failures had nothing to do with BD. I went to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377/ , and used method #3 "Reset the registry and the file permissions" to enable my computer to install SP3 . Thanks for all of your replies .

I was asking about possible interferance from my BD anti virus , because Microsoft listed anti virus issues as possible causes of installation failures .
