  • Yes, the signature-based blocking (the on-access setting) will still protect you. AVC is a complementary technology of Bitdefender to block or stop those unidentified malwares (the 0-day malwares) that are already running on your system. So for someone like me who NEVER goes online without a sandbox enabled and doesn't…
  • I use Sandboxie 4.06 and BIS with no problems. AVC is enabled and set to aggressive. My browser is Comodo Dragon. I sandbox it while browsing. I think that disabling AVC would result to a lesser 0-day malware protection. But since you're using Sandboxie with your browser, then you're already protected. It might be okay…
  • Do you have Sandboxie? Sandboxie reports in its website that Active Virus Control of Bitdefender somehow conflicts with Sandboxie. But, I use both with AVC aggressive... nothing's wrong for me... just make sure that you enable the compatibilty option for Bitdefender in Sandboxie... Actually, the problem is everything…
  • As ONT mentioned, you cannot block a folder per say, but the .exe and processes. To confirm you have all the process blocked for a program, you can check for the software's running process name using Process Explorer, which I find easier and more in depth to use than Task Manager, for this feature. Thanks for the reply.…
  • I think I may be doing the opposite. I am easily able to directly block the .exe files but I think some of the processes are still active and connecting and thats causing the issue. How can I narrow down all these and make sure they are blocked?
  • you have to block application's executables as well as their processes. Can you expand on this a bit? When the rule is created, I go into the rules settings and I can see that the "Apply To" path is set to the programs .exe. I don't see any other options I can set regarding the application. I leave everything else set for…
  • Yeah, I was thinking that. That was the first thing I tried. It was as simple as just finding where the rule was created and click "Deny." For some reason that's not blocking it. Any idea why it's getting past the firewall and connection? I know that when I disconnect from the internet it prevents this.
  • Hello The traffic is still blocked? Could you please turn off the firewall temporary and tell me if everything is OK? Also, Windows Firewall is turned off? Take care. I've discovered that its the VPN software blocking it and not an exception in Bitdefender's firewall. I am however troubleshooting another issue with the…
  • Hello Welcome to the forums! Did you make these settings in the Firewall module? http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35496 Take care. Thanks for the reply. I checked the thread/screenshot and yes, all my settings match. Actually, I went one step further to where my "Network Type" is not just set to Home/Office…
