Since i don't know much about Linux, but I suspect that Bitdefender failed to mount the HDD and may also prevent from mounting it manually from the terminal commands because your HDD is damaged and may not get repaired properly......might be partition table and Volume layout and Type not supported. How do I get back to desktop when the Rescue CD has finished scanning. When I click the off icon all I get is a dark screen and I have to turn off the power and reboot. It is probably obvious, but I am a dim newby. DON`t forget to remove the rescue CD If your Bios is set to boot from cd/dvd drive.
