@Gjoksi - Thank you for chiming-in. @Cosmin P. - You are definitely onto something there! That (temporarily) works. The problem is, either Edge refuses to save the setting, or Bitdefender protection prevents the setting from being changed. If I do a Bing search for , say ... "old truck" ... I can see the option to disable…

@Mike_BD thank you very much for the update, and thanks to the team for addressing the issue quickly after seeing the user reports here, much appreciated!

@greybits - Good post. Although I can see why this notice is not part of the "Special offers" or "Recommendation notifications" that we can disable, and I DO want to be notified when a feature has been added / changed / removed (example: would have been great if we'd all received a notice before they removed the security…

@Alexandru_BD The new Password Manager popup notifications started for me just within recent weeks, and I keep dismissing them on all my systems (several Windows 10 and one Windows 11) , but the notice returns at least once per day. I reboot my all my systems at least once per day, sometimes two or three times. Perhaps…
-
This has become truly annoying over the past week or so. If you read these two posts from @Alexandru_BD , so far it seems that indeed this notification cannot be disabled like most of the other ones, and it seems BD devs aren't aware that the message keeps coming back every day even after we dismiss it, but apparently…

Hey guys, thanks for posting solutions that worked for you. Unfortunately neither disabling QUIC nor installing Traffic Light have ever worked for me, and still don't. I've tried on multiple PC's. I've tried every solution possibly found, including full uninstall / reinstall of Bitdefender Total Security. I originally…

I don't even understand why spammers are allow to remain on this forum along with their posts. I manage a couple forums myself and the very second I see someone post spam or a malicious link I delete their account (and posts) entirely. There's no "please don't do that" involved... waste of time. It's like asking a virus to…
-
Why does Bitdefender forum allow spam posts with malicious links like the two above? I only stopped by this thread searching for more elaborate documentation on the "Your device allows any user to change the settings for the security zones. This could lead to execution of dangerous code types from the Internet and websites…

Search Advisor still does not work with Google. (Works with Bing though - tested again today with latest versions of Edge, Chrome, and FireFox) I've tried installing/unsintalling TrafflicLight, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Bitdefender Total Security, went through all of the settings. Search Advisor simply does…

YES!! Finally, new version arrived on all PC's. Really good to see that "heartbeat" again, all you have to do to enable / disable it is right-click on the BD icon in the task bar. Great effort everyone! :)

Thanks for the confirmation @k70 (and also @VictorK ) My BDTS is still stuck on version 25.0.10.52 , even after uninstall / re-install from Central , on all PC's. Really would like it if BD could provide a link to get the new version.
-
@VictorK - you got lucky to get it early, but thanks for letting us all know that it really is coming to fruition. Lots of us are still waiting and checking updates every day in hopes to see it arrive.

@BogdanB_BD Thank you for the update, very welcome news! However, this weekend is end of month and I'm starting to wonder when I'll receive it. https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/comment/300270/#Comment_300270 Fingers crossed... 🤞

Completely uninstalled BDTS, rebooted, made sure all Windows Updates and Driver Updates are current, made sure all browsers (Edge, Chrome, FireFox) are updated to latest version, re-installed BDTS from Central. Still no widget. And on a side-note - Search Advisor does not work in any browser. No "TrafficLight" icons next…

I just read the great news - https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/comment/299258/#Comment_299258 BitDefender will be bringing the Security Widget back. Big sigh of relief for those of us who help a lot of friends/family/clients with their system management and for whom we've guided to install BD Total Security…en Please bring back the Security Widget in Total Security Comentario por AnotherDave diciembre 2020

This is a major relief! Great news, thank you. This truly saves me from having to put a ton of extra effort into helping the 30+ other people (clients, family, friends) that I help manage systems for and have purchased BD TS for years at my recommendation, and saves the trouble of them asking me to help end their BD TS…

I think it might be helpful if more people would use the "vote" feature in my first post at this link - https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/82831/please-bring-back-the-security-widget-in-total-security Especially since it's in the "Product features and Ideation" forum and BitDefender describes that section as:…

This thread is marked as "Accepted Answer" ? Because of the original poster? I don't want to make life difficult for anyone, but I will start a new thread on this, and more.

So as of today: BD says - "the widget used unnecessary resources" and was "not popular". Yeah? Really? It was the only thing that let most users know that it was still loading / scanning / updating / computer ready. AND it was THE step above all the other security suites, with a visual warning / alert that a simple user…
-
Well, that's an obvious pile of dung considering the Security Widget made it plain & clear what was running. This is a huge step backward. (Not to mention that the Security Advisor is now non-functional in Chrome and FireFox). I'm not trying to argue. These are confirmed FACTS from PAYING CUSTOMERS. 2CO is very amicable on…
-
This is getting BURIED. Please VOTE on the Original Post.
-
So, now that BD has made up their mind that the Security Widget is no longer something we deserve, that we paid for, please enlighten us - how is BitDefender now any different than Kaspersky Total Security? PS - I'll gladly take a refund for what I bought (a product advertised with Security Widget) so that I can uninstall…
-
Would be great to see some factual information to back-up those statements. Low number of users? Let's see the stats. Move to Metro interface? That was long before the widget! Not much of an impact on user experience? Yeah, I'll bet... for BD support, since users don't have any idea whether it's doing anything or not now.…

Thank you Phil, and EXCELLENT POINT where you mention: "If resources are an issue as @Flexx is suggesting, there is the option to turn off the Security Widget for those who do not want it to consume resources."
-
Thanks Phil. Please consider up-voting this feature request (to keep a great feature that was a deciding factor in some of us purchasing the product, only to see it suddenly removed after years).
-
HI Flex, I read your response very carefully (and I think everyone who cares about this feature should) because of the following simple points: The Security Widget has been a part of BD Total Security for many years now, so while I may not be a "developer" , when I hear you say "with any new feature comes more consumption…
