Me too, I was aware of the same phenomenon. We have determined that the spam email add-on is probably not fully compatible with the new features of the Thunderbird engine.1 -

Gjoski, thank you! The McAfee uninstall tool said it "failed" after two tries, but it did remove enough to satisfy BitDefender and I was able to reinstall BD with no problems. Success!3 -
