Win 10 enhanced security

Many people like me have older computers running legacy software and Win 10. Physically, these computers are not hardware compatible with Win 11. Currently I have no upgrade path, other than to pay Microsoft for an annual security upgrade subscription, which doubles in price for 3 years. (Greedy!!). I suggest that BD offer a win10 specific security version that keeps us current and fills any holes left by Microsoft…or will this already be addressed in your standard offerings? Thanks.

My laptop is not compatible with Windows 11, so I skipped the Windows upgrade. Instead, I downloaded the Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft website (https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11) and used Rufus (https://rufus.ie/en/) to create a bootable Windows USB. This allowed me to easily install Windows. There is always an alternative way for everything.

When using Rufus, make sure to check these options as shown in the image below.

Bitdefender can offer protection against the effects of unpatched vulnerabilities in the OS, but the proper way to do address them is to patch them. And I think the antivirus vendors have no ways to patch Windows.. at most, security researchers can raise awareness when vulnerabilities are discovered in other software.
