I reported to you recently with a problem that the firewall was disabling alert mode on its own and releasing programs that were blocked into the network. I think I have found the culprit. It's the “PROFILE” option - once that suggests to me at home that I have an office network although it is not. It still makes a decision on its own and shuts down and lets everything go as it goes.
The office profile allows you to turn off the firewall without our knowledge and lets go e.g. office, exel, etc. Because it probably thinks it is supposed to have access to the network. But I don't think so. And it shouldn't work that way.

So, this is how the Profiles are actually designed to work. The concept behind the Profiles is to improve performance and not bother you with notifications. When Profiles are enabled, Alert Mode obviously contradicts this, so it has to be disabled. However, this doesn't mean that the Bitdefender Firewall is completely disabled, it only means that alerts are no longer shown each time an app tries to connect to the internet. When Alert mode is turned ON, the Profiles feature is automatically switched OFF.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if the user has allowed a certain application to connect to the internet using a certain connection type through the Alert Mode prompt, a rule will be permanently created in the Firewall Rules and the notification pop-up won't appear anymore.

Hello and thank you for your quick response.
As for the firewall itself, I am embracing the topic. I've been using Bitdefender quite a bit. Here the issue is that the “warning mode” turns itself off and even clicking to turn on it bounces and does not do so. It's like it's blocking something. And the firewall rules themselves for new applications don't stop them just automatically being let loose on the network with no information for me where I can decide to let go or block access to the network. The only option was to reinstall Bitdefender. But that didn't help. I noticed by doing another clean system install what was causing this. And it happens when using these profiles. It's as if the program was set Office profile - let office go to the network - and similarly with other programs. Some were blocked and others actually let go. So this is what my observations look like. Now I am without these profiles and nothing happens. The firewall is working properly. But I will keep watching. If I find something I'll let you know.
