Hello,
I installed Bitdefender central and it keeps advertising for Bitdefender Vpn.
When i install Vpn the advertisement in central is gone and comes back when i remove the vpn!?
I don't want to use Bitdefender Vpn(for now) so how can i get rid of these advertisements?
Thanks for your answers,
Sven

Hello @Kempie and welcome back to the community.
Check if these options are turned off:
Let us know if this does the trick. This is not actually an advertisement, it's a recommendation for a feature that's already included in your security suite.

I thought you already had Bitdefender installed, since I remember we talked before on the forum 😄

Hey Alex,
I installed Bitdefender on my PC and unchecked the special offer and recommendations and it still shows the you can use VPN in central………
I can remember the last time i used Bitdefender this wasn't the case in central app.
Btw you are right, i used Bitdefender before, but my sister had bought a license from the competition (K) and instead of a license for one she bought a 10 device license….. so i got a free ride for seven months on all my devices 😉😎.
Also i don't really care about the VPN commercial but had to ask because it wasn't there before and it is not included in my security suite…..(only 200mb)

Hi,
I understand. Ok, have a look at this article:
Then bring up the Bitdefender VPN interface to disable the notifications there as well:
If such notifications still pop-up afterwards, kindly attach a screenshot so we can know where to look.
Thanks

Alex,
Is there a problem with the Bitdefender servers…?
I can't activate Bitdefender security on my tablet and daughter here phone……!
Even central doesn't work and online central gives a server error….

Hello @Kempie,
Now it makes more sense, you were refering to the Central app. 😅 So, if you get the VPN app and remove it shortly afterwards, does the banner come back?
In regard to the activation and Central web, does the issue persist? I'm not aware of any outage and Central works fine for me…

Hey Alex,
Server problem is resolved and Bitdefender installed….👍️ maybe the problem was on my side…
Indeed the app, if i install vpn the banner is gone but when i delete the app again the banner comes back.
I am not loosing sleep over the banner, but just because it isn't in my license you should be able to remove it….also because, for the moment, i am using an other Vpn.

Ok so that's sorted, good to know.
Yes, I noticed from your screenshot that you are using NordVPN if I'm not mistaken. 🙂
Here's the catch with that banner: all customers who purchase a Bitdefender home security suite also benefit from 200 Mb/day of free VPN encrypted traffic, therefore the VPN app is installed alongside the antivirus on Windows & MAC, so the customer can utilize the full functionality of the product they chose. Hence the recommendation in the Central app as well, because if you have Mobile Security, you can also use the included VPN, albeit limited to 200mb/day per device, it's nice to have for occassional use.
Now, I'm not sure if that recommendation can be dismissed without installing the VPN app, to be honest. Essentially, the banner is not upselling anything, it simply informs the user they can make use of the basic VPN included in their subscription / license. In any case, if the banner poses an inconvenience to you, I think you can simply download the VPN app and just leave it there. It won't do anything if you are not using it.

Hello Alex,
Thanks for the help and and good explanations.
Indeed i am using Nord Vpn, and maybe i will switch to Bitdefender after my license expires.(have to do some tests first 😉)
I'm going to leave it like this in central app. The most important thing is that i am well protected!
Again thanks for the support.👊
