Windows installation of BD Family Pack over existing expiring BD install doesn't work
I have BD Total Security installed currently. It is expiring tomorrow. I purchased BD Family pack from NewEgg because the renewal price for my installed software is ridiculous. I've downloaded the new Family Pack version. When I try to install it I get the blue circle that runs for about 30 seconds (flickers a couple of times) then just goes away. How do I get the software to install?

Hello @jwhizz,
If you already have Bitdefender Total Security installed, you can skip installation for Family Pack.
Simply enter the activation code in Central, and once the Family Pack license is active and the previous one expires, the protected devices will be automatically allocated to the new license. The product type and validity are updated according to the subscription or license running in the Central account, if Bitdefender is linked with that account (logged in).

Thanks. That appears to be what happened. What a dreadful user experience.

I'm sorry to hear this.
Well, the flow is actually designed to improve user experience, since you don't have to reinstall the product if you upgrade your plan, as this is done automatically once you activate the subscription / license (in the event the installed product is linked with that Central account, of course).
Glad to hear this was resolved and you are most welcome. 🙂
