I recently updated my OS and discovered that Bitdefender is blocking Time Machine from running.

I get these error messages:

In the bitdefender Notifications, I get the reason:

Do you have to tweak this or can I update some setting to allow for the backupd to work? There was a message on the autopilot recommendations earlier to allow for Time Machine to run and I clicked the button to make that happen but the button was frozen and wouldn't work. Then, the message disappeared and I haven't found it again.

HELP!

Ah…found a work around.

If you disable protection of your Time Machine in anti-ransomeware, Time Machine works…

So, Bitdefender won't protect your Time Machine but I guess you could turn off the Protection, run the Time Machine backup, and then reenable protection. Doesn't work well if you do timed backups but better than nothing.

No problem here (with time machine protection enabled). However, after upgrading to Sequoia, I had to unmount and remount my Time Machine disk.
