CVE-2024-21413 infection: through client or server ?

Hi all.

I discovered a few .msg files infected with CVE-2024-21413 .

These files were exported from my work through MS Outlook.

Was it likely that the server (hosted on MS Azure) was infected or the client app to open the emails ?
