Pages seem to load without CSS styling

Hi all,

recently many times I enter websites that load without CSS styling when VPN is turned on. Once I turn off Bitdefender VPN and everything seems to work. When I add such website to excluded list for split tunneling it does not help. I also tried to suggested fix to change the DNS server in system settings but it also didn't help.

If you've encountered similar issue and know the solution then I'd be grateful for your help.

Hello,

I think this is likely due to the VPN interfering with how resources (like CSS files) are fetched by the browser. First, try to change to a different server location within the VPN app. Also, the included anti-tracker and ad-blocker could affect how the webpages are displayed. Check if these features are enabled in the VPN app and if they are, disable them temporarily and access the websites again afterwards.

turning ad-blocker off helped. But what if I'd like to use ad-blocker feature? Can this issue be solved?

It would be a great help to have white/black-list support for the ad-blocker feature. BD has provision to bypass VPN support for web sites, why not extend that feature to ad-blocking?

Hi,

I know that the ad-blocker included in the VPN app had this feature for a long time, but it was considered unreliable and was eventually removed, because it didn't live up to certain performance standards.
In short, it was not working as intended. At first, this may seem simple to develop, but in reality the developers were approaching the limit of what could be technically implemented, and the only viable solution they had found at the time would have taken about a year to implement. Yes, that long. As such, the VPN teams considered that the effort was simply not justified, and they decided to focus on other developments. However, they will revisit the proposal in the light of new VPN enhancements they are working on this year, but it's still unclear if a reliable solution will be found.
