How to safely exclude steam

Hi there !
1- i need steam to get updated while b.d. or express vpns are on. Adding only steam.exe in the exemption list is enough for the steam software ?
2-

Is the above method sufficient to exempt all Steam games, including their anti-cheat software and launchers?

Based on my findings, there are no mandatory exceptions to add here, they work well together.

Try adding exclusion in your Bitdefender product: the entire Steam folder to the exclusion list under the Antivirus section, while placing the Steam executable files in the exclusion list under the Advanced Threat Defense section. Additionally, utilize the split tunneling feature in your ExpressVPN product.

yea but when we use vpn the steam restarts and changes the download region which effects the download speeds,

@Flexx Bitdefender works fine with steam games , thx to its game mod feature😋, bitdefender vpn has an awesome ability to put all necessary files in the exclusion list by simply clicking on the software's folder, but express does not contain this feature.anyhow flexx u recommended some genius man
