Can't access links I clicked via X when using VPN
Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me here, I've been using Bitdefender VPN for a couple of months now, but I'm facing a weird problem : when on the social media X, each time I click on a link available on an X post that brings me out of the X website, it doesn't work.
The message reads : This site is inaccessible
The IP address of the t.co. server cannot be found.
I've used the tunnel segmentation adding X.com in the list, but it still doesn't work.
Could you help me on this ?
Thanks a lot for your help, it's much appreciated !

Hello @R_Cohle,
Check if this guide helps:
(ignore the Split tunneling step in this case).
If you are using the Premium VPN version, you can try changing the server and check if the links can be accessed afterwards. Also, consider changing the DNS settings on your device. A DNS (Domain Name System) works like a phonebook for Internet-enabled devices: it lets you access websites and other online services by using domain names instead of IP addresses. Most users rely on ISP (Internet Service Provider) supplied DNS servers. While this is not inherently wrong, your ISP or network administrator can easily prevent you from accessing certain apps and services by blacklisting their domain. If you are using a Windows device, click here for instructions on how to change your DNS server. Let me know if you are using another OS and I can provide the relevant steps.
Also look into the Ad blocker and Anti-tracker included in the VPN app, as these may affect critical webpage functionalities, preventing some elements to load properly. If enabled, turn both switches to the OFF position and check the links again:Split-tunneling may not work in this case, because the issue you are facing does not happen on the actual X platform, but whenever you are being redirected outside that platform. Also, keep in mind that certain services and websites may have mechanisms that block VPN traffic.
I hope this helps.

This issue might be caused by the VPN blocking or failing to resolve t.co links (Twitter/X’s link shortener). You could try adding t.co to the split tunneling list along with X.com and see if that helps. If it still doesn’t work, clearing your DNS cache or switching to a different DNS (like Google or Cloudflare) might resolve it.
