UnBlocking legitimate files from known websites.

I posted this in the "wrong" section, new at your "Boards," hope to get remediation on this forum from someone on the BitDefender Team!!

More than two decades of PC use, BitDefender is the 4th tool that I have migrated to after McAfee, Norton, Avast, and now you. Each program had become unwieldy, bloated, or performance blocking.
Your program is the first that has made downloading and using software from legitimate websites compromised and unworkable.
I have been using Blender for a decade now. I routinely download updates and various versions, depending on my needs. I just now downloaded blender-4.3.2-windows-x64.msi from www.blender.org, an Open Source tool, widely used throughout the world and in video/movie/animation projects, as well as other applications.
It failed to Install, even with Administrative rights, I opened a Command Prompt, with Administrative rights, navigated with "old DOS" commands to the download folder, copy/pasted the name of the file at the prompt, hit Enter, and got Access Denied.
Following your online advice guidelines, I added exceptions for that file and then the website, re-downloaded the file again. Went in and put Exceptions wherever I could in BitDefender, to no avail. This is a world renowned Open Source website.
I would hate to have to look elsewhere for Protection, as your reviews are favorable.
Please address this for me and the rest of the world.

As a "work-around," I returned to downloading the same version as a .zip file, unzipped it and copied the files into the appropriate, New Folder on my system, with Administrative Rights, a choice not all users will understand nor attempt. Unnecessary step. I had to know where on their site to find the .zip archives. This and other commonly used websites should not be blocked, or at least, give me, the user, a message and indicate that I should give you permission to make the necessary changes to allow this to happen. Put whatever cautionary message that you think are needed, and reasons if warranted, but then let me make the choices and fix it so it works??!!

It gets worse>?? I started on PC's when the DOS Prompt in a Command window was required, long past, but information that most users of today will have no knowledge of!!
I could not Launch the program, after downloading as a .zip file, UnZipped, then Copy/Pasted into a New Folder in my C:\ drive in the Blender folder, after Administrative rights Authorization, to make the folder and Paste into.
Double Clicking on the Blender.exe file did nothing, Run as Administrator, did nothing. Only when I Opened a Command Prompt with Administrative Rights, navigated to the correct folder via DOS Commands, and Entered the Blender.exe file name, Pressing Enter, did it Open. I maintain (4) four versions of Blender most of the time, but this is the first time I had to go through this "Juggling Act" just to run a Legitimate Program. Unnecessary!!!

Hello,
Following your online advice guidelines, I added exceptions for that file - is the .exe file already whitelisted for ATD?
Are there any notifications in Bitdefender that could reveal which module is blocking the tool? I can think of OTP, ATD or even the firewall, so this would help identify the culprit module. If this is a false positive, it can be reported to Bitdefender Labs, so they can investigate the detection. Once confirmed, false alarms are corrected within hours, and you can use the form below to submit a sample of the Blender software:https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/29358/
I have deleted the duplicate thread.

I filled a "False Positive," claim on your form, which should already be in place, for https:www.blender.org
I have Exceptions in ADP, OTP, and the Firewall, which I entered.
I should have gotten a notification when trying to launch the program, indicating where an Exceptions was needed, even better, pose the question, "Would you like to have an Exception entered for this web address??"
I had to go to a Command Prompt, with Administrative Rights, to launch a legitimate program.
I suspect that most of your general use customers, would have no idea of this option, or how to do it.
This is a clunky implementation, and gets in the way unnecessarily, in my opinion.0 -
Again?? I am once again, attempting to Update software, I have used for years. I tried all of the usual avenues, even trying to do it from within the app after LogIn in my account. Always worked before?? Now I keep getting blocked
https://discord.com/ is the URL, on this occasion.
I entered Exceptions in all of the likely locations within BitDefender (which is cumbersome way, which your software should ask me, then set the exceptions. )
Discord is a known entity, used by many software developers to communicate with users.
This is getting difficult to have to contend with, unnecessary impediment to my computer usage??
I went in to your "False Positive" reporting tool. Why am I doing this? Never did before.Frustrating!!!

I am still attempting, after dinner, to Install/Update my Discord program on my PC.
Never had these problems before recent encounters.
After entering Exceptions, everywhere, (Over-kill??!!) and try to run the already Installed Update, from the already Installed folder, NO GO.!!
I Navigate to C:\Users\paulhart\AppData\Local\Discord\Update.exe, which is in a Protected Windows Folder.
Press Enter on the file, nothing, Run As Administrator, again nothing.
Launched a Command Prompt, Administrative privileges invoked (Really?) Navigated via DOS Commands to the folder and attempted again.
Still no go, for a Program that the Community uses, is already Installed on my station, for several years, can't Update my own program??? HELP
I should not spend my time on Forums, trying to get this to work. Unacceptable??!!!Frustrated again.
