VPN Premium: Corrupt installer.exe after update

The VPN is unusable after the last update. When connecting, an error message states that the server is unavailable. I tried to uninstall it and got an error that the installer.exe was unavailable. Then I tried to run the installer.exe from the bitdefender/installer folder, and got the error below. How do I uninstall? Can I get an uncorrupt installer.exe from somewhere? I can't install nor uninstall the VPN application.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Try this:
Open Command Prompt as an administrator → press Windows key + R, type cmd, then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open Command Prompt with elevated privileges. Run chkdsk:
chkdsk C: /f /r , confirm and restart. Wait for the check to complete and be advised that the process may take a while if scanning a large drive. Once it finishes, Windows will try to repair file system issues automatically.
After the disk check and possible repairs, try uninstalling the VPN app via Control Panel → Programs and Features or Settings → Apps & Features.Let me know how it goes.

Thank you, @Petersl ! I ran the chkdsk - no help. Then, I uninstalled BD VPN with revo - registry included.
Interestingly, after rebooting, I now have a new working version (27.2.2.2(a)) of BD VPN on my laptop. I don't know what the root cause of the problem was.
