Wintun and connection

I am on Windows 11. After a rocky period with Bitdefender which led to an update, I found a new driver called Unified Wintun. This is slowing down my connection, but it also switches itself off occasionally, so my connection becomes interrupted. I find it shocking that having Bitdefender is causing so much trouble. My subscription will not be renewed unless of course somebody really explains what is going on and provides some solution. I am beginning to feel Bitdefender is working as he malaware it is claiming to protect me from.

    Hello.

According to @Alexandru_BD, who works for Bitdefender: "Unified Wintun is the name of the VPN adapter. Basically, Wintun is the new network driver that Bitdefender VPN uses in Windows, it's a driver that brings a performance increase of approx. 15% and allowed the VPN developers to have a more robust implementation for some features such as split-tunneling.".

And in another post, he suggested to do the following:

"Download the update tool from this link: (https://download.bitdefender.com/resources/files/KnowledgeBase/file/MigrateBitdefenderVPN.zip)

Double-click on the downloaded archive to open it. Then, double-click on the file it contains to run it. A new window will appear - please click on Run. Open Bitdefender VPN again and click Connect.

Let me know how it goes. If this doesn't work for you, you will have to get in touch with Bitdefender Support for further assistance. They can help migrate your VPN version to the new one which doesn't have the unified wintun adapter that causes this issue."
