I want to know why so many computers are connecting to this link

and whether Bitdefender Internet Security blocking it indicates any potential danger.

I beileve that you have the same issue as this user:
I don't use Microsoft Edge, so i don't experience the same issue.
Maybe @camarie and @Alexandru_BD, they both work for Bitdefender, can give you more insights about the issue.

The URL with certificate blocked is http://static.edge.microsoftapp.net/, which indeed had the certificate expired. Currently it has been renewed today, its Before Date is 2/28/25, 6:10:18 AM GMT+2. The block was valid, it just caught the small window between certificate renewal, I suppose.

I got the same issue about your problem, and i got worry about that, Any know how fix that? and the most easy/simple wayto fix.

I got the same issue about this threat, i mean i got this notific since between 2-3 days aprox, like between the day when expired the certificated. … Thats mean we can fix that and only need wait when they apply the renown, right? thats mean is more external issue than a malware, right?

Yeah I am not worried about it as it is not malware imho. Just tired of seeing the alert. Hopefully it gets updated soon. I will post again when I stop getting the alert.

I research on Google and all sites and mean about the time to renown a expired certificated take between 2days and a week, depend of the entity, this case is Microsoft. I hope that solve that :/

Hello, I still get this kind of notification which is quite boring I'm not even using edge so I don't even know what triggering this. Could it be the microsoft widget app the one on the task bar? Any news on a fix from Microsoft?

MSEdge is running in background for "various reasons", if you look in Task Manager probably you will see several instances running. Disabling it to run requires disabling it from startup and from Settings.

Yes, it is messanger desktop which require edge to be running unfortunaunfortunately but still bitdefender blocks msedge.exe because of the static.edge.microsoftapp.net expired certificate. So I was looking for a solution mainly for that

Any notice about the threatement false?… Coz recently now, march 03th, 2025 the threat false are stopped, i mean it coz when i turn on my PC normally the notific triggered min after i turn on my PC and now are totally stopped, Any got same result? or is only me?

Bitdefender still objecting to edge when I log on to edge-certificate of "something" expired. Dangerous, or just annoyance. Others seems to have the same problem.

53rd notification of the same error message. Everything I go back to edge for anything. Please, is this a problem for my security, my safety or my sanity?

To bad about for that issue continue on you side, for me are apparently stopped. Maybe the fix don't apply right now so need wait for the update by confirm but if continue with problem, notific over here and send a ticket with BitDefender directly and not from Forum… i hope so can send a ticket about this theme, and send link about this forum by the devs follow this topic by they try help us.
So bad, but maybe on many days that problem are solved, is like the infamouse(controversy)/famouse Windows 11 24H2 update are start apply the update on specific day of release but that update are not apply soon for all PC coz need release for many PC by dont stress the server, and many weeks or months after global release date i got the update apply. So maybe we got confirm about that issue soon after many more days, but to be honest, i dont know :/
I feel same about that, the notific are stopped and this is my 2nd or 3th day are stopped completly the false notific, so i thinked are fix for me.
I think the problem coming from the Microsoft server, so with simple unsubscribe dont fix that; while you got a apply are connected with Microsoft's server, like Cloud for example… u continue got notific about that. But dont worry, is false threat notific, but is correct keep in guard. My Advice, absolutly ignore the notific coz first is false threat, second BitDefender continue blocking the access to the URL so u are safe and thirth cominf from microsoft so give time to fix this issue and notific to Bit Defender about this issue. All issue coming from extern problem, is not coming from your PC.
And about you… s like i explain before you, is coming from external issue, coming from Microsoft, coming from they url with a Expired Certificate and Our, and our i mean mine, your and all Bitdefender's users, our Security detect a expired certificate and that threat like a threat and block the access coming from Microsoft so thats mean is a external issue, not coming from your PC so u can be calm and relax coz BitDefender work well about our security and we are safe. Is not your PC, is not a security issue, is Microsoft issue and they need fix it with a renowned certificate by stop the false threat notific. U are safe, but if you continue feel unsafe, scan your PC with completly scan and wait to confirm your suspect, i scan twice by confirm my suspect and i don't detect malware and inform on forums about the issue and u can check the problem with clarify and let Microsoft fix they problem.

To me it happen on certain websites, this trigger the bitdefender to block the msedge.exe, the funny thing is that I don't use edge but firefox so I was wondering how this is possible. Please note that in edge option I select the option "do not run in background"
