No longer able to print in SafePay

No longer able to Print from Safepay

For months now I haven't been able to print from Safepay. I've had Bitdefender for years and it used to work. I have a network printer that's website based currently and have even tried direct printing via a usb cable.

Within Windows 11 Microsoft Edge browser on my laptop, wireless and direct usb cable printing work. Only in Safepay does it fail. I've tried updates, turning on/off both the Windows Defender firewall and the Bitdefender firewall. At one point it was trying to print to a PDF in "OneNote" (ONLY from Bitdefender Safepay) I removed that option. Only options now are 2: the wireless and USB cable method. I chose USB cable at the DEFAULT.

The message I get is "the selected printer is not available or installed correctly. Check your printer or try using another printer". I even tried to add an exception to allow port "USB001" and it says invalid port name.

Any suggestions? Frustrating

    Hello.

I'm sure that @camarie, who is the main developer for Safepay, will help you with the issue.

    Please, wait for his reply.

Can you tell me what model of printer and operating system do you have?

Update: I think we have this fixed. I was unable to exactly reproduce what happens on users machines, but I simulated it using similar conditions and the fix appears to be working. It will be released on one of the subsequent updates (I am estimating this until the end of the month, but I cannot say exactly when).

  • I also have this problem in the last few days. When I made a BACS payment in Safepay browser I was always able to print the transaction page. Last couple of payments would not print. I did not receive any error message, just when I click on 'print' - nothing happens. It tried to go via One Note [which I have never used] instead of straight to the Canon printer which is set as default.

I use Acer laptop with Windows 11 and have a USB cable direct to default Canon printer.

All worked fine until recently. I can print a document when not in Safepay.

    I have uninstalled One Note.

    Please advise.

As I said in the previous comment, the issue is fixed and will be released on the next update.

Sorry, just saw this. It is an HP Officejet Pro 8610. Windows 11 Pro, ver 24H2 OS build 26100.3194. Both laptops are Dell, Latitude 5520 & Inspirin 7506 2n1. Everything works in Microsoft Edge browser. Turning off the Firewall does nothing, nor adding the printer IP address to the exclusions.

    Thanks
