SMS Links not scanned - Mobile

I did some testing on my Android mobile phone which has the latest OS and application software updates.

Links in Whatsapp, Emails, etc are being scanned, however, links in SMS text messages are not.

I confirmed this by watching the 'Scam Alert' page while testing. The 'Links scanned in texts, notifications, etc…..' did not increment up by +1, nor did any other counters when a link was received in an SMS / text message.

Is anyone else having this occur ? Alot of scams come thru SMS..

Did some further testing.

I had someone send me this link via sms which is a test malware url.

The application worked and flagged the link once it was received via sms.

Here is where Bitdefender Mobile is confusing in this particular test.

1. The 'Texts' counter increments up by +1
2. The 'Links' counter (under the purple / orange circle) DOESN'T increment up by +1 at all when detected over sms. It does when detected over Whatsapp or Email

Either way, it seems like Bitdefender is protecting you even over SMS despite not having the 'Links' counter increment up. 😊
