The amount of time it takes to troubleshoot unalerted port, app, system, service blocks on my child's account is unbelievable. No way to easily impersonate parent to be able to configure is crazy. Let alone the absence of any notification of port blocks that are keeping the entire Internet (other than Bitdefender apparently) blocked is crazy.

Regret not doing a more thorough trial prior to taking the plunge.

Back to Windows Defender, at least on my dependent devices.

Hello @skowronek,

I assume you are referring to the Parental Control? What are the actual blockers, maybe we can look into some of the support articles and find a solution for you. If you can elaborate, that would be helpful. Surely, there has to be a way to resolve the issues that you are encountering, we just have to take it step by step and see what's going on there.

Keep in mind that the Support teams can also help with configuring or troubleshooting the Parental Control service, in the event we are unable to find any helpful solutions here on the forum.. I can share their contact channels, if necessary.

@Alexandru_BD thanks for the response (honestly didn't expect one). Having used Kaspersky the last 10+ years I'm sure I'm projecting some of my frustration at their expulsion from the US.

The specific use case above is related to the lack of admin impersonation being available for the kids' devices. Kaspersky had the option to enter a parental password to allow admin impersonation to make changes on the fly.

I probably just need to spend the time to dig into how Bitdefender workflow works for parental controlled devices.

You are most welcome. Unfortunately, Bitdefender Parental Control doesn't offer this more advanced feature in its settings. But the new version has been enhanced with plenty of new features and offers better control over the child’s online activities, and you can read all about it here:

Naturally, when switching from a different product, it may take some time to adjust to the new UI and get familiar with how Parental Control actually works and what it can do, but fear not, Bitdefender's Support Center (or knowledge base) provides comprehensive guidelines and also step by step instructions for installation and setup, troubleshooting and more, so make sure to check it out.

And you can always ask the community, of course. 🙂
