    Hello @Hallof_e

Unfortunately, Parental Controls cannot stop a Windows reset/reinstall or block it. You would need to create a Local Account/Standard User on that PC, to block that ability. It would then need the Admins credentials, PIN etc. to be able to make any system changes.

    Kind regards.

To add to this, you first need to provide clear instructions on whether Windows is being reset using the built-in feature or installed from scratch during PC startup.

@Scott provided a resolution related to the Windows OS built-in reset feature. I will now proceed to address a resolution to prevent Windows OS from being installed from scratch after booting up the PC.

If you use a bootable USB or CD/DVD at startup, you can reinstall the operating system from scratch. This happens because the existing OS hasn’t loaded yet, preventing access to the desktop. Instead, the computer will either enter UEFI/BIOS or boot directly from the external media, bypassing the installed OS. To install software within Windows, you must first boot into the desktop by ensuring the internal storage is set as the primary boot device.

    To prevent this, you can:

    • Set a BIOS/UEFI password – This will prevent unauthorized users from booting from external media to reinstall Windows.
    • Disable USB and DVD boot options – In the BIOS/UEFI settings, you can prevent booting from external devices.

How to Check Your BIOS and PC Manufacturer:

    1. Open the Run Command: Press Win + R on your keyboard.
    2. Type System Information: In the Run dialog box, type msinfo32 and press Enter.
    3. Share a Screenshot: Once you have the information, share a screenshot as shown below so that your BIOS and PC/laptop manufacturer can be identified. This will help provide the correct steps to set up a BIOS password specific to your PC/laptop manufacturer.

I have promoted you to Level 2 so that you can share the screenshot with us here.
