Hello @MHen,
So, there are actually a couple of settings for Auto-connect. Check if the below are enabled:
Open on startup - this is located in the General VPN settings:
Connect VPN on Windows startup - Auto-connect Settings:
What is your current setup for Auto-connect? You can also use this feature for specific apps and websites or even website categories.

I actually have both settings listed above to auto connect. But it still has to be connected manually.

Hi @MHen,
This may be a long shot, but it has proven to work on several occasions, so I have to ask, did you try to reinstall the VPN app by any chance? If not, try this first, and if doesn't make any difference, I think it will be necessary to contact Bitdefender Support for a more in-depth investigation. My best guess would be that there is something on the device that is preventing the VPN services from starting in a timely manner. But we won't be able to find out if that's the case here, so I would recommend to get in touch with Support, so they can investigate and find out what's running on the system that could prevent the feature to work as expected. If reinstalling fails to solve the problem, head to the link below to contact the support engineers:
State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.
