Users lost write permission on any external USB device

After applying a huge gravityzone task called "Fix Security Risks" we are unable to write to any external device connected to any of our bitdefender managed computers.
The reason is that "the device is read only".
Even if we uninstall bitdefender, the issue remains.
The device, however, is perfectly working on any other machine. Even DiskPart reports that the device is not read only.
Inspecting the permissions of the device/folder/file the group of USERS has no write access.
There is no way I could find to persuade windows to grant write access to any user even if the user is administrator and runs the command/gui action/registry change as administrator.
(Although I am not sure I am aware of all registry keys responsible for granting write permission to a user of a usb external drive.)
The issue is that we cannot perform our daily backups and this will not contribute to diminishing our "risk score".
How can I revert the changes of the security fix?
Our policy on all devices is "allowed". I tried to reapply the policy, even tried to turn the usb device policy to "read only" and back to "allowed" but nothing changed.

Hello @musicalo ,
In order to provide the steps on how to revert this task (not entirely, just the part that created the permission change) we will need to know your GravityZone account and check from our side the task and what changes it made so please open a case with our enterprise support team and we will look into it.
You can reach out to us using the following contact form:
Kind Regards,
Andrei
