I keep getting the message "failure to communicate with Bitdefender Central App Service"

The solution given doesn't seem to relate to Windows 11, so I feel I'm left with a non-functioning Anti-virus system. Is there a solution that works?

    Hi @Gary Ward

Try changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, are you connected with a VPN or a proxy? If so turn this off and see if you still get the error.

Hi @Petersl. I'm new here, and also struggling to make the antivirus work. I'm using a Win11 machine, and tried the solution mentioned above, as well as the solution in the Support section. All of the Windows updates are installed, the firewall is not blocking anything, and Windows Security says that Bitdefender is outdated. Multiple reinstallations don't help; in fact, Bitdefender fails to get uninstalled because the Bitdefender Agent stays in apps, and if not removed manually, the fresh installation won't go, so have to manualy delete everyting from Program Files. Also it's imposible to remove Regestry keys even with elevated rights , going to the settings and allowing the admin user to modify, also throws an error.

I've created a support ticket with logs, so hopefully i'll get a solutions, as i know for sure i have a few trojans, and not working anti-virus is sad.

    Hi @Smonkl

When uninstalling bitdefender use the bitdefender unintaller tool to uninstall: https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

You can also use revo uninstaller to find any left over files: https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/

It's good you have a ticket with support, your issue sound like it's probably a bug, hopefully support fixes it ASAP, keep us informed about the progress of your ticket.
