Bitdefender subscription not renewed. Does windows defender antivirus auto re-enable?
Hi.
In windows 10, if bitdefender's subscription has ended and is not renewed (planning to renew at a future date, in a week or two), shouldn't bitdefender total security disable its antivirus and re-enable the windows defender antivirus automatically when this happens?
Is there a way to re-enable the windows antivirus without uninstalling any bitdefender software untill I renew it?
I'm asking this since either bitdefender or windows defender's antivirus removes the visibility of any button/slider/link/setting when clicking on the "Microsoft Defender Antivirus" button that has the ⌄ symbol next to it in the "Security providers" list.
Maybe someone knows some way for me to set it via registry, even if I know it's not recommended?
Thanks.

I mean the windows defender antivirus' "real-time protection" slider gets removed by… bitdefender I assume? I know it's bad for both to work at the same time, but there must be a waaaay easier and faster way to swap back and forth, as it seems to be the case with firewalls.

Best is to uninstall Bitdefender to fully benefit of windows defender.

Hello,
Once your Bitdefender subscription ends, the software will stop functioning, and you will no longer have access to its features. However, since Bitdefender remains installed on your device, I think there's still a chance of conflict with Windows Defender, thus in my opinion, If you wish to postpone the renewal, I think it's best to uninstall Bitdefender from your device, and use Windows Defender until you decide to renew your Bitdefender subscription. Reinstalling is quite easy to do.
