BD using 73% of Android battery

Pixel 7a with a new battery. It's my wife's phone and she's about to be traveling for the next week, so no choice but to completely uninstall BitDefender.

BitDefender according to battery usage stats is using an astounding 73%. That explains why her phone is running out of power at an appalling rate. The original battery had begun to bloat, which pixel batteries are prone to do after a couple of years, so that might have been the problem, but after replacing the battery BitDefender usage remains unacceptable.

Could this be a settings problem? Is there documentation anywhere about BD battery load?

Hello @GaryCorby,

I think that's highly unusual. I mean, the battery drain in this case is excessive, there's no question about it.
