Bitdefender blocked website that I didn't visit

Hey, I was just watching a show on my laptop when I got hit with a notification from bitdefender that an infected web page was detected and blocked (1. Default2024. uk/api2/p). I ran multiple scans and checked through my browser settings and couldn't find anything that could have triggered it. Any ideas?

Hi,

I assume you were watching something online and this detection was triggered. Most likely, it has to do with a browser redirect or possibly browser hijacking, so when you were viewing that show, a pop-up or some form of adware was trying to redirect you to a potentially malicious page, and Bitdefender blocked it. If the system scan doesn't reveal anything suspicious, then you have nothing to worry about. A browser reset and removing unwanted extensions from it should be enough as these redirects are browser related. If you were watching that show on one of those free online streaming platforms, these are usually bundled with all sorts of adware, redirects and pop-ups.

It was on Disney+ that I was watching. I was not on any sketchy sites. Is it possible it blocked a redirect from a different site that I might have been on but the notification was delayed?

Yeah, that's more likely, since Disney+ is a reputable platform, after all… Btw, I saw your post on Reddit as well. As far as I can see, Bitdefender's Link Checker also flags that url as malicious. The thing is, this seems to be an unknown API endpoint, I mean, the /api2/p path does not really correspond to any publicly documented API, making its function unclear and potentially hazardous in this case. Based on my findings, another similar subdomain, ww7.default2024.uk, has been flagged with a very low trust score, suggesting it may be associated with scams or phishing activities. I recommend to reset your browser, clear the cache and cookies and check if this happens again.

Thank you for the help, ive reset and cleared my browsers. And ran basically every virus scanner which all showed nothing. I will let you know if it happens again.
