I am trying Bitdefender Total Security (planning to replace Norton on 5 devices with Bitdefender in a few days).
I scanned my Windows PC using Norton and found no issues. I then did a full system scan using Bitdefender which ran 4+ hours and reported 40 issues resolved… but they were resolved by deleting 40 old emails, each having a musical gift card someone sent me.
Questions:
(1) Is there a way to configure Bitdefender to isolate somehow rather than deleting so I can review the items before deleting?
(2) The deleted items are not in my Windows Recycle Bin… are they archived somewhere by Bitdefender or literally 'deleted'?
(3) Is it likely that Norton missed all of these and Bitdefender correctly identified them as some sort of virus or malware risk? Or is it possible Bitdefender incorrectly identified these and deleted 40 otherwise good emails?
(4) Now that the issue log has closed, does Bitdefender store that log file somewhere?
