What to do if I am suddenly blocked from many websites?

Hi,

I was wondering what I should do if I am suddenly blocked from many websites? I have been overseas and now am back in the US, but I can no longer access the login for my univ email account (overseas), the univ library search function (open to the public), even a page to purchase an item securely from a vendor in California. They all say took too long to respond. It seems like this is tied to a firewall, I assume on Bitdefender since Windows Defender Firewall says settings are being managed by Bitdefender Firewall.

This is the first time this has happened. I am not sure what's going on. Can you please advise?

It's probably because you're trying to log in to those websites from a different location so the security of those websites are blocking the login.

Try connecting with a VPN to the location that you where previous in and see if this allows you to log in.

To add here, turning the firewall OFF might reveal if this has actually something to do with it. And yes, if your Bitdefender includes a firewall, this will replace the standard Windows Defender firewall. If the respective websites load with the firewall OFF, try this:

Re-activate the firewall in the Bitdefender UI.

Go to Network Adapters tab and set the network type to Home/Office using the drop-down menu near its name
Then, from the same Firewall Tab, click on Settings from the top-right , then, for the network you're currently connected to, uncheck the stealth mode button to disable it.

Also, choose Rules tab → reset Rules → restart Windows and check if the issue is resolved.
