Extra charge for Web Protection?

I have Total Security on my Windows 10 PC with Mobile Security on my iPad Air 2. Yesterday I got a new iPad Air M3 and copied everything from the old iPad to the new via Quick Start. I don’t have VPN anywhere. Now I’m getting messages on both iPads that Web Protection is not turned on. When I try to turn it on manually, it says “Want to try it?”, like it’s a free trial & I’ll be charged $2.48 extra every month. It should be free with Total Security, right? I wasn’t paying extra for it before I added a new ipad. Please advise.

Okay, so you have a Bitdefender Total Security subscription for 5 devices, which means you can use its license on your iPad as well. Let's proceed by removing all existing iPad devices—old and new—from your Bitdefender Central account. After that, open the Bitdefender app on your iPad and log in again using your Bitdefender Central credentials. If everything goes well, the paid version of the Bitdefender product will get activated on your iPad, and it will automatically synchronize with your Bitdefender Central account.

Are you using two separate Bitdefender products—Bitdefender Total Security for Windows and Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS—or are you using a Bitdefender Total Security license (with a multi-device subscription) to activate Bitdefender Mobile Security on iOS?

Nevertheless, Bitdefender Web Protection should be activated regardless of whether you are using the free or paid version of Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS.

As for Bitdefender VPN, the daily data limit for the free version included with any Bitdefender product—regardless of the operating system—is 200 MB per day. This limit resets every 24 hours. To get unlimited VPN access, you need to either upgrade to Bitdefender Premium Security, Bitdefender Ultimate Security, or purchase the standalone Bitdefender VPN product.

I think you should give this a try: Go to your Bitdefender Central account and remove both your new and old iPad devices from there. Then, log in to your Bitdefender account again on your new iPad. This will allow the new iPad to sync properly with your Bitdefender Central account.

Thanks, Flexx, for the quick response. I have the Total Security license for 5 (I think) devices. Ayer removing both iPads, will I be able to log in to each one’s Bitdefender account to sync them with the central account? I won’t be able to try it for a few hours.

It worked. Thank you very much! To add to my confusion, both iPads had the same name, so I renamed them. I wasn’t sure whether to sign on to each iPad using the “Central” app or the Mobile Security app, but I fiddled around and everything looks good now. Thanks again.
