Why can't I access the internet when connected to my home internet provider? (T-Mobile)

I can access the internet when on a different WiFi or my hotspot. I set up an alias WiFi name and that worked for a while, but within a week of using the new one, it too stopped working. My browser is Microsoft Edge.

I've checked the proxy and firewall. No issues there

Do you have Bitdefender installed when this happens, and does it have a firewall running? Are you also using a VPN with that hotspot? I think the first thing to check would be if the connection resumes after disabling the firewall (if applicable) and / or the VPN (if applicable). Changing your DNS server might help and I'll share the steps for this. Click on the article relevant to your OS:

Also check the proxy settings. For Edge, go to Settings → System and performance. Make sure 'Use hardware acceleration when available' is turned off. If you're using a proxy server, make sure it’s configured correctly or disable it temporarily. Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy and disable the proxy if it's turned on.

Another thing I would recommend is to clear the cache and cookies for Edge, because sometimes, cached data can also cause connection problems. Furthermore, just to get this possible cause out of the way, turn off your router, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on. And to rule out possible Wi-Fi issues, switch to a wired connection and see what happens.

Have you also tested using other browsers, like Chrome or Firefox? This can help determine if the issue is specific to Edge. If the issue persists with multiple browsers and networks, there might be a deeper network issue or interference from a firewall or router settings, or something specific to the hotspot setup you are using, because as this post reveals, there can be multiple causes behind this.. If nothing here helps, maybe the next step would be checking the router for firmware updates or contacting your ISP to confirm that there are no outstanding issues with the connection.
