Simple on off switch/pause

Every so often I need to run some software that Bitdefender spits its dummy out and I have to go into loads of settings to turn things off before i can do what I need to do. I`ve tried to run exceptions etc but then it says something else it does not like and so on. All I want to do is turn of Bitdefender 100% for 5 mins or less nothing else but its always a ball ache. Other safety software Ive used in the past I`ve not had to do this as there was an easy kill switch/pause switch it used to be so easy. I`ve been using Bitdefender for over 3 years I guess I should know better by now and remember what to do but why the heck should I, the software should work for me and when I say stop. STOP!

This feedback has indeed been shared with the Bitdefender developers. However, it's important to understand that the Bitdefender product philosophy prioritizes security above all else. From the Bitdefender developers standpoint, a one-click pause feature could potentially create a vulnerability. If a malicious program were able to exploit such a feature, it could disable all protection with a single command, leaving the system completely exposed.

The current design — which requires users to manually disable individual protection modules (such as Antivirus Shield, Firewall, or Advanced Threat Defense) in their Bitdefender product — is a security measure intended to make it more difficult for malware to fully disarm your protection.

While this approach may seem a little unusual, it represents a trade-off that the Bitdefender developers have made to ensure a higher level of security for all users. At this time, they do not consider a one-click pause feature to be a valuable addition, as it could compromise the integrity of their security model. It appears unlikely that this feature will be implemented in the future, as it goes against their core security principles.

Would this not make it easier for malware/hackers to potentially disable bitdefender?

If bitdefender decides to add the feature it should be password protected.

If there are concerns of possible vulnerabilities that such a feature would introduce in the security suite, then obviously something like that will not make it into production. Bitdefender is capable of defending itself against unauthorized deactivation, it includes a self-protect feature.
This switch/pause button has been repeatedly requested by users, however, I think it's highly unlikely that it will be implemented, and the reasons were explained thoroughly in several related posts on the forum..
