Hello. Lately, Bitdefender VPN has been disconnecting very often. I would like to know the causes of this problem and how it can be solved.
Thanks for following up with your findings.
Regarding the publication you've mentioned, I can't really validate their reputation, as a matter of fact it's the first time I hear about them. What I can tell you is that I've come across many similar websites who may get paid to promote specific products to their audience, at the expense of others. So, I would take this with a grain of salt. The Bitdefender VPN earned its reputation as a trustworthy product which respects the core principles of user privacy and enforces a no-log policy as well, and you can read more about it here:

I really doubt it that it would leak any data during connection loss. Because the kill-switch stops all Internet traffic if the VPN connection is briefly lost. So, logic says there's no data to be leaked in the first place. I can't say what they really tested there or how they ended up with that verdict.
Regards

Alexandru_BD,
I'm not trying anything. I'm just a customer who trusted your products for my online security. However, I will check out the suggestions you have provided. But unfortunately, I don't have the time right now to perform the tests required by me. So, if I have any information in the future, I will let you know.
Alright, you can get back to us anytime here. I was just trying to help and proposed some troubleshooting steps to try, because there's a checklist to follow whenever this happens and there can be multiple causes behind this behavior. ISP, server-side, protocols, DNS, outages, etc.
The simple fact that it disconnects can mean many things..
I am facing much like the issue which is discussed in this thread. My vpn often disconnect while playing delta executor game which i have downloaded from https://deltaexecutor.mx/. i dont know whether this is legal or not?
Have you tried to route the game outside the VPN tunnel by using the Split-tunneling feature?
Hello. After repeated testing at different VPN locations, in which the disconnections were present in all of them, I found that the problem was with my provider's network router. This is a problem I have also encountered in the past due to high temperatures during the summer period.
After performing some standard actions, the connectivity issue was resolved (temporarily, apparently) and the VPN is working normally again as before.
These are the facts so far, but since even this could prove to be a theoretical issue, please leave this thread open for further clarification, if necessary.
Finally, I would like your opinion on a publication by rtings.com, which ranks Bitdefender VPN among those that leak data during connection loss in Kill-Switch mode.
This could reasonably cause concern among Bitdefender VPN users. Should we take such reports into consideration?
Thank you for the informative answer. The article in the link you provided was absolutely helpful.
Indeed, such publications could have no validity, as the very fact that they present some of the most reliable VPN software as vulnerable to leaks, obviously they intend to misrepresent the actual data.
I always recommend trusted publications and independent reviewers for things like that, for example pcmag, av-test, av-comparatives, effitas, etc.
My internet service provider experiencing connectivity issues due to summer heat in the outdoor cable distribution boards. And curiously, while it appears that there is an active internet network, in fact there's no such connection. That misleads users into believing that their devices or some of their programs actually has the problem. I have confirmed those disconnections from other mobile devices the exact moment the connection is lost. In conclusion, Bitdefender VPN has proven to be a trustworthy software, working properly and without any issues. So it is no longer necessary for me to worry about this issue. Thank you again for your valuable support. You could now close this thread.
