Why does the "Ads and Trackers blocked" indicator (VPN) stop updating.

I've been running the Ads and Trackers utility on the VPN for a few weeks now. It has always shown actively updating statistics. Then sometime yesterday, after a restart, it froze at 0. The system was shutdown overnight and has been running all day (VPN active; the connection time shows about 9 and a half hours). I've been using the Internet normally. The counter still shows zero. If I go into Settings > Privacy, the Ad Blocker and Anti-Tracker setup shows "Active" with a green check mark, so it thinks it's working. The Ad Blocker set-up shows both function active. There are no error flags anywhere that I can find. I'm running Version 27.2.3.8(b) on a Windows 11 laptop.

Based on my findings, this behavior was actually caused by a temporary glitch, there were some delays in the responses received from an internal service, and it's possible that the ads and trackers counters were also affected by this, because they are no longer counted locally, but server-side. You can close the VPN tunnel, restart the device and then restart the VPN and the counters should be back.
