Hello Bitdefender Team,
I’ve been a happy user of Bitdefender Mobile Security, but I noticed that unlike the PC version, the Android app does not allow scanning of individual files or folders — it only scans apps/APKs.
I understand that Android restrictions prevent antivirus apps from removing threats in certain system files, but I think it would still be valuable to offer an optional file/folder scan feature. Even if Bitdefender cannot take direct action on a malicious file, simply alerting the user that something suspicious has been found (with the file path) would let us take our own steps — for example, deleting the file, reformatting an SD card, or restoring from backup.
This would be similar to how Bitdefender already alerts users when their data appears in a dark web leak. You can’t remove the leaked data, but knowing about it empowers us to act. The same logic applies to potential malware in files.
Having this option would give users more control, more transparency, and greater peace of mind — especially those of us who want deeper visibility into our devices.
Thank you for considering this improvement. I really appreciate the work you’ve done to make Bitdefender lightweight and effective, and I believe this feature could make the mobile product even stronger, considering other antivirus protections have implemented similar features.
