Has anyone experienced Total Security stopped working?

Over the past couple days, my TS has just stopped working on my Windows 10 Pro machine. Thankfully, MS Defender kicks in right away. NOTHING has changed on my system, I mean NOTHING. No new s/w, etc., and W10P is up-to-date. Yesterday, I removed the program totally and then combed through the Registry cleaning that up too. Rebooted, and all was working well. I did another Windows update this morning and upon reboot noticed a notification from MS re: Defender. And that's how I came to know TS had turned itself off again. Also, come config parameters are accessible, others not. It's almost as though I was hacked. A full system scan showed I was clean. Anybody?

My specs:

OS Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x64 With Latest Windows Updates Installed

OS Build 19045.6332

BD Total Security 27.0.54.270

For me, the program works fine, without any issues.

You should follow the steps below.

-- STEP 1 --

Repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool:

https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

It will completely remove the program.

Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been solved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

If the instructions from Step 2 didn't help, follow the instructions in this step.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

NOTE: If the log file is larger than 25MB, you can upload the log file here:

After the upload is done, you will get a notification with the file's URL and then you can share the file's URL with the Bitdefender Consumer Support.

Based on the description, I think the issue is almost certainly related to a Windows update interfering with Bitdefender services. Try the clean uninstall with the official removal tool, check that services start correctly, and re-register with Windows Security Center. If it keeps happening after every reboot, it’s likely a known update conflict and the support teams may require logs to investigate further.
I think Windows 10 updates can sometimes reset security provider registrations, and some updates include new kernel protections or security patches that may cause Bitdefender drivers to fail to load. But this is just an assumption, as stated above, the logs should reveal what's really going on there.
