I help run a MSP, and we've used Bitdefender Endpoint Security for several years. The ability to enable "Remove Competitors" within the installation helps us save loads of time during client onboardings.
But in recent years, the list of competitor products has grown significantly, to include some backup and EDR software we use. So now we have to be very meticulous about install order, and make sure BEST is deployed first. Unfortunately, our EDR product is deployed with a policy, and we don't have fine grain control over the install scheduler. This means we spend A LOT of time uninstalling the EDR, installing BEST, and re-installing the EDR.
Having a feature that would allow us to ignore certain products (i.e. our EDR) during the competitor removal phase of the BEST installation would be a great way to let organizations adapt to Bitdefender's growing list of competitors. This could be done right in the Gravity Zone installation package designer, as seen below:
I've talked with support, and the only solution they could provide was to disable "Remove Competitors". But this would cause us to spend a lot more time manually removing incompatible products during client onboards. So not really a helpful solution.
We've been dragging our heals, hoping these products would start playing nicely, but nothing has materialized. It would be great if Bitdefender could let us make exceptions for the other products in our security stack.
