For some time I am seeing some sites inaccessible when searching using Google. Now Youtube is complaining about the VPN for some posts. Is this being addressed?
Thanks
Hi @Pogossian,
Try to switch between the protocols available in the VPN app, and also adjust your DNS settings. I'll leave the instructions below for you:
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13353/ (There are more steps provided in this article, simply scroll down to "change VPN protocol").
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/87643/ (Assuming you are usign Windows, if not, let me know what OS you are running so I can provide the relevant steps).
To add here, this isn't inherently an actual issue with the VPN, so it's not something to be addressed by the vendor (assuming that this isn't an infrastructure issue or a bug), but usually a problem that can be fixed by tweaking a few VPN settings here and there, depending also on your system configuration and ISP, but also taking into account any other possible similar apps installed on the device, which may cause conflicts.
Also check if the Ad-blocker and Anti-tracker features are enabled in the VPN app, as these may sometimes interfere with how the content is displayed on some websites, especially the ones running many ads, or those who employ various tracking tools. You'll find these options in the settings menu, under the Privacy tab:
And if you are using the Bitdefender Anti-tracker browser extension, this may also play a part in the behavior you are experiencing. But there are ways to configure this as well.
As can be seen, there isn't actually a single answer/solution here, you'll have to do some troubleshooting to find out what's causing the issues you are encountering on those websites.
I hope this helps.
Regards
