I am a user of Bitdefender Security through a paid family plan. I created this account due to not having the login info for the account. On Friday, my Bitdefender program repeatedly notified me of a virus it detected, and I think it said it was related to MS teams. I restarted my computer, which took longer than usual, and was greeted with a screen saying this:
The antivirus solution installed on your system is cleaning your computer
Deleting————
Some of the infected items failed to be cleaned. Please contact Bitdefender support for more information on how to clean your PC!
After this screen disappeared, my computer finished restarting and launched regularly as if nothing had happened. I thought the problem might've been solved, but I immediately noticed a performance issue on my computer, with constant stuttering and screen flickering. Ever since, it has been noticeable slower and worse. However, I went back to the bitdefender app, and the notification section, which logged every issue it regularly runs into, had NO mention of this previously-mentioned virus, with the notification that was there, around 12pm, having now completely disappeared. It's not in any of the sections.
I have since tried every other method to secure my PC that has been suggested and operated by Bitdefender, having done the full system scan AS WELL AS the scan in the rescue environment. None of these brought up any issues. Since then, the performance issues have persisted while Bitdefender continues to act ignorant, acting as if it never intercepted a virus in the first place.
What can I do to potentially locate and flush out this harmful malware or virus? Why does Bitdefender act as if it never had a problem in the first place?
