How Do You Add VPN To My Television?
Hello.
Can you please be more specific, what TV are you talking about, is it Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon TV, etc?
Regards.
Samsung Smart TV
On the same matter, according to @Alexandru_BD, who works for Bitdefender:
"Samsung TVs don't natively support VPN installations like computers or smartphones do. If you have VPN installed on your laptop, you can create a virtual router and share your VPN connection with your smartTV. This process basically involves turning your computer into a Wi-Fi hotspot and connecting your TV to it.
There are various software programs available that allow you to create a virtual router. Once set up, your smartTV will use the VPN connection through your computer.
Another way of doing it is by using a VPN-enabled router, though unsupported by Bitdefender VPN, so you'll have to look for other alternatives in this case.
There are plans to develop Bitdefender VPN compatibility with smart TVs, but this is likely to happen during the second half of the year. It's definitely a concept worth looking into.".
Thankyou very, very much Gjoksi, I will give it a try. Take care.
Sincerely,
Victor Michael Feodorov
If you buy a business wireless router that supports a vpn connection or a harware appliance with OPNsense or similar you can set up a VPN on the gateway connection routing all traffic through the VPN. Look up the support page for your VPN for instructions on setting up a wireguard VPN connection on your router.
It would probably be advisable to use it just for IoT devices that you want to route through VPN. Make sure it is secure/trusted since the encrypted VPN traffic can be monitored by the VPN provider. A compromised router would send all of your traffic through the malicous VPN exposing all of your traffic so be careful and use best practice security documentation to set it up.
