Suspicious web page detected

Hi everyone, I have a question.

I keep getting a notification from Bitdefender Antivirus time to time, not very frequently, about a suspicious web page:

Feature: Online Threat Prevention

Message: The page *** has been detected with suspicious activity. It is not recommended to continue browsing this website.

I have no idea what this website is or why I’m getting this alert. I have tried closing all websites and apps I had open, but the notification still pops up.

I am usually very careful with installing software. I stick to trusted apps and mostly visit popular and safe websites.

Can anyone explain what this is and how I can protect my PC?

Hello,

If you are not accessing that URL yourself, it's possible that your browser is trying to connect to it through a plugin or extension you may have unknowingly installed. Even trusted extensions may come bundled with adware. Or, it could be a browser hijacker that's continuously trying to redirect to that website.

Also, reset your browser, delete any unwanted or unknown extensions and install and ad blocker and anti-tracker.
