Dear Bitdefender Support Team,
Greetings,
I am a long-time and loyal user of your products, and I have complete confidence in Bitdefender's ability to provide protection.
However, as you know, there is a growing trend online of opinions suggesting that modern antivirus software is becoming "useless and annoying" against advanced threats (such as fileless or zero-day attacks).
I have two main questions for which I would appreciate your expert and reassuring answers:
- Bitdefender's stance on the debate surrounding the usefulness of antivirus software:
Could you explain how Bitdefender addresses this perception? What specific technologies ensure that Bitdefender remains a necessary and significantly stronger layer of defense than built-in operating system defenses (such as Windows Defender), particularly in detecting unknown (zero-day) threats and protecting sensitive data?
- Protection enhancements and future features:
What areas is Bitdefender focusing on in its upcoming plans and features to further enhance protection? Specifically:
Bypassing: Are there any new or enhanced features that will focus on making it significantly more difficult for advanced persistent threats (APTs) to bypass Bitdefender protection?
AI/ML: Will more predictive AI models be integrated that not only detect attacks but also predict their intent and behavior before they can cause any damage? (Similar to XDR or HyperDetect technologies.)
IoT Security: What measures are you taking to provide unified and robust protection for smart homes and the growing number of IoT devices, as demonstrated by your recent initiatives related to the Matter standard?
The purpose of these questions is to ensure that my investment in Bitdefender is an investment in a robust, future-proof security solution, and that the software will remain several steps ahead of evolving hacking techniques.
Thank you for your time and efforts in maintaining our digital security.
Sincerely,
Amr
