Adobe and Topaz Downloads Fail

I'm having problems with Netgear Armor interfering with downloads and updates from major photography programs; Adobe PS and Lightroom, Topaz Suite. I disable VPN and turn off Netgear Shield but still get the protection message to Allow of 5 minutes which isn't enough time. Once the update gets interrupted it fails and I have processing problems so delete the photography software and start over. How do I get Netgear Armor to stop interrfering with updates from these companies?

We only get Netgear-related threads occasionally around here, so chances are not many will jump here to advise, since it's not really our area of expertise. Perhaps it's best to get in touch with Support directly regarding this.
But there are a couple of things to try beforehand. From the top of my head, I think Armor blocks specific URLs or domains it considers risky, so it could actually block the URLs relevant to the update. But you can whitelist them:

This allows those update servers permanently, so you won’t get forced 'allow for 5 minutes' prompts again. I think it's worth trying. If this doesn't fix it, toggle Armor off temporarily, and run your update. When finished, turn Armor back on to restore protection.
