Hello.
I had downloaded some files which I later suspected were infected esp. a rogue exe file. A few days later upon scanning, found multiple infections detected which were quarantined by Bitdefender AV. Upon checking the quarantined items, found the culprit in there. The file I suspected, among others. Add to that Onedrive had synced and stored these files in cloud as well, so I manually deleted them. So that was sorted.
So my main concern is regarding the files detected - All are listed as Trojan Generic. Some file names do sound like a trojan, which I hope to delete from my system. But there are other legit system files as well which have been listed as trojan, incl. softwares I installed such as Da Vinci Setup file, then snippingtool.exe, filesyncconfig.exe, onedrive.exe, copilot, etc.
I also noticed files which I had long deleted come up in this scan which was really strange. (logmein also came up, which is used for remote access, so that was creepy, although I had deleted it long time back)
So are these false positives or did the malware disguise itself under these legit files?
Would deleting them lead to system crash? I'm very unsure about what to do.
Please. Kindly guide. Thank you so much in advance.
