I am really at my wits end. I've never ever had a virus, trojan, takeover, nothing at all like that. And I've been on a computer for quite a few years at this point. Someone did a takeover (I don't even know the correct terminology!) of my computer last Monday and I've been at this a week. I really am clueless about this sort of thing, so have patience with me please! I've run scan after scan. Last one I just stopped a few minutes ago. It had been running 31 hours, found 153 unresolved and 18 resolved. Then I ran Malware Bytes and it found nothing. I have switched from Chrome to Firefox, someone suggested it might have started in Chrome and I've been getting notifications "someone tried to access your account". I've run Bitdefender, Malware Bytes (which originally found 7 items and removed them. This apparently started with an email attachment and honestly, I knew at the time not to click on it. It was from Social Security…who'd have thought! GRRR). Every singled MB scan done since comes back clean. I even did the MRT scan in Windows and it came back clean. I don't know if I'm getting false positives or what. I need help! I did just change the Full Scan to "high" so hopefully that'll speed it up a bit and do have another scan running right now. I just updated BD also.
