Hello community, I would like to see a notification, whether in the program, app or preferably via email, that an auto renewal is upcoming, I understand that it's easier to have this enabled so you never miss out on protection, but as someone who keeps only a limited amount of money in the account used to pay for things like this, I was a little shocked to see my payment had come out, yes I could set up an alert or reminder, but my calendar is full enough. Surely it wouldn't be difficult to implement such a feature, so for people like me, we can get ready and have money in ou accounts, luckily my bank no longer charges overdrawn fees, but I know some do.

According to the below article regarding automatic renewal, I quote:

You will be notified by e-mail 45 days prior to the expiration date. This e-mail will provide you with all the details about automatic renewal, including a link for easy cancellation of the service. If the auto-renewal option remains active, your Bitdefender subscription will be automatically extended. No further action is required from you. This way, you will avoid even brief exposure to online threats.

Perhaps you missed the email, or it was sent to your spam/junk folder. Or maybe you unsubscribed from these communications in the past. Or, if you used an email address to place the initial Bitdefender order, and activated your subscription in a Central account associated with another email address, then you would not have received the automatic renewal notification. Also, if there was a typo when you first entered your email address during the purchase, and registered your Central account with the correct one later on, this could also be a reason for delivery failure..
So, there can be a few scenarios here, but such notification exists and it's being sent to customers prior to the actual renewal date, so the customer can see the renewal price and billing date.

I see I did get one, but I also get about 200+ emails pers day, a notification/pop up on my computer would be more visible, or on my phone, it's too easy to not see an email, whereas a popup is more visible, for me anyway, I have set a reminder for next year but I really think for such a large purchase it would be nice to have a clearer notification given.

I understand and appreciate the feedback.
The thing is, the antivirus already displays quite a lot of notifications, from security alerts to recommendations and special offers, thus another flow of in-product notifications for renewal would add even more complexity and may also annoy some customers.. Notifications were always a hotbed of debate among users who complained over the years that there are too many.
I mean, it's what you would expect from a security solution, to be informed all the time of what's happening on your protected devices, and get assurances that the prouduct is operating as expected, yet some people consider these notifications and pop-ups to be intrusive and prefer a more silent antivirus that simply does the job in the background, without stealing focus. I get that, but at the same time, the user must be aware of what's going on and sometimes their input may also be required, hence the need to display these alerts.

My point is, notifications are a controversial topic and the development teams are probably reluctant to add more, specifically because of some complaints they have received in time.
Note that the UI also displays the remaining validity of the license/subscription, so perhaps this could also be a good reference?
