Bitdefender icon not showing again......

To clarifiy one by the clock bottom right of my screen is missing on startup sometimes it there sometimes its not it will either be there and stay or not show up. If I restart it will show every time but thats a pain and shouldn't be necessary. I reinstalled it this will fix for a week or two but I have limited internet and cant keep downloading every time the stupid icon decides to hide lol.

Hi,

If the systray icon appears after a long time, here's the explanation:

If the icon is simply missing or disappears, try these steps:

Select Start, scroll to Bitdefender, then press and hold (or right-click) the app. Select More → Pin to taskbar.
If the app is already open on the desktop, press and hold (or right click) the app's taskbar icon, and then select Pin to taskbar.

Step 1: Search "Bitdefender" using Windows Search Option.
Step 2: After the Bitdefender app comes in search result, right click on it, hover to select Open file Location by left click.
Step 3: This will take you to a shortcut of the app. Now right click on that shortcut and go in its Properties.
Step 4: Under properties tab you may find that the app icon is missing. There is an option to Change Icon, left click on it. Then select Bitdefender icon.
Step 5: If you're already running the app, then the icon will still appear blank. Close the app from the taskbar. Then reopen.

Now I can't guarantee that this will fix the icon for you.. The grayed-out Bitdefender icon usually suggests its tray process may stop responding while its service is busy or being restarted.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear this. Is the grayed out icon accompanied by the message "Bitdefender services are not responding" by any chance? I mean, if you hover the mouse over it, it may show this. If yes, then this means the service failed to start or stopped working. Their first fixes are to restart Windows, update Bitdefender, remove conflicting security software, and reinstall Bitdefender if needed. You can find more information here:

If the icon turns grey for 10–30 seconds during startup and then turns normal once services finish loading, this likely points to a delayed startup/load issue..
There's also the possibility that the subscription is not syncing properly. In this case, open Bitdefender and click the Switch account feature to re-enter your Central account credentials, so that the software can sync again with the active subscription. You'll find the steps here. You don't have to enter another email address for another account, simply re-enter your email address associated with your Central account again for re-syncing.

Also, make sure that there's no other antivirus or security tool conflicting with Bitdefender on that device.

Unfortunately it either appears at startup or it doesnt.

Always Starts on restarts.

I went to the start menu and run bitdefender from there it says everything is ok just no icon. One on task bar see picture is missing the icon info but i cant do anything right click has no options for properties etc.

Do you happen to have any other AV solutions installed on your system? This appears to be a compatibility issue, so I recommend contacting support and providing them with a set of logs from the Support Tool.

The thing is, we have no way of knowing if there's an incompatibility on the system, if some other program is conflicting with Bitdefender or what exactly is causing this without analyzing some logs from the product. As such, if the usual troubleshooting steps don't help, you can generate a log and send it to Bitdefender Support so they can have a closer look at what's happening on the device.
