I’m experiencing an issue with Bitdefender requiring updates repeatedly on a single workstation, even though all other users at the same site are unaffected.
Symptoms:
- Bitdefender shows “Your system is at risk – Update: The product is out of date.”
- Because Bitdefender believes it’s outdated, outbound email is affected:
- An application that sends emails is blocked
- Outlook displays warnings like “A program is trying to send an email message on your behalf”
- Updating Bitdefender temporarily resolves the issue
What’s been tried:
- Full uninstall and reinstall
- Used the official Bitdefender uninstall tool
- After a clean reinstall, Bitdefender works normally for about a week, then reverts to “out of date” again
- Windows Updates are working normally
- Network/firewall is not the issue (no other machines are affected)
Any other thoughts on what to try?
